In this wonderful oil on canvas the painter draws inspiration from Architectural Capricci, a pictorial genre of the seventeenth century characterized by the representation of fantastic architectures or perspective-type inventions, often combined with drawn elements freely from reality. In fact, as in the Capricci, here too we admire real sculptural and architectural elements but reconfigured in an imaginary way, and various figures drawn from sacred and profane stories.
