Glorious electric cobalt blue Land's end watercolor from William Stanisich, whose provocative Land’s End series was painted over a 40-year span with a force and directness that reflects the artist’s search for the essence of light through the medium of watercolor and oil. In this watercolor that was recently framed for a retrospective exhibition where it is being shown for the first time. Stunning, fresh and unique nature scene. Perfect on its own or paired with other watercolors from the series. The watercolor is 28 x 20 inches. Professionally framed in a museum quality ebonized black walnut wood and thick museum mat, the frame's outer dimension's are 36 1/2 inches tall x 29 inches wide. All archival materials and ultraviolet filtering plexiglass used in the frame.
This watercolor is featured in a new limited edition hardbound book featuring Stanisich's Land's End series of paintings. The book is available in the gallery, where Images from the series reflect San Francisco’s constant changes from the perspective beneath the canopy of the Monterey pines, eucalyptus, and scrubs at Land’s End. The contemporary landscapes offer a jolt of monochrome electricity, glowing with a jewel-like intensity that mirrors the energy and beauty of the windswept region at the tip of Golden Gate National Park.

William Stanisich
William Stanisich is an American artist born in 1947 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was raised in San Francisco and attended public and private high schools. Stanisich taught painting and humanities at The Urban School of San Francisco 1972–99. He explores the world in search of the spiritual essence of light. The forms he photographed in San Francisco are later realized in his studio, in paintings that are at once abstract and realistic. Executed on a scale not normally associated with watercolor, the artist boldly celebrates the natural light of day as well as the man-made lights of night. Stanisich is currently a full-time painter in San Francisco.
