Atmospheric vintage nude portrait oil painting of a woman standing by Richard Durando Togo (b.1910). This is a gorgeous dark and moody nude by an artist known for his nudes and women portraits. It's an oil on canvas and signed in the bottom right. Here, the emphasis is on the lighting of the model, the juxtaposition of light and shadows, blonds and browns. The tonal hues on the model's shoulder and legs are quite stunning and the artist adds more interest with animated brush strokes with some added impasto.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Richard Durando Togo (B.1910) Born in Buenos Aires, Richard was a Argentinian painter who spent most of his life in Italy and France. He settled in France permanently in 1934.
In 1968 he was awarded the Grand Prix International de la Peinture. He was a self-taught artist with a very personal style, a painting of light and shadow that are often juxtaposed blond and brown to create an atmosphere of mystery. His nudes are not shocking to the eye, he gave us paintings of refinement and elegance.
