Anna Shesterikova
Granddaughter of a Koryak Shaman. Portrait of a child. National costume.

2024

About the Item

"Granddaughter of the Koryak Shaman" - this picture continues the series "Children of the World" said Anna about this painting. "I dedicated it to my small homeland, where I grew up, the Kamchatka Peninsula, washed by the Pacific Ocean. The Koryaks live in Kamchatka, this is a local ethnic group. The closest to the Koryaks are the Chukchi and Eskimos, who live in Alaska. The Koryaks are mainly engaged in reindeer herding and fishing, their religion is shamanism. We see a girl dressed in national clothes, embroidered with patterns. On her head are beaded jewelry that the girl made with her own hands. Behind her is the tambourine of the shaman, her grandfather. Shaman is very revered in every village. Not every person can become a shaman. On his life path, the future shaman goes through a number of spiritual transformations. With the sounds of a drum and special songs and spells, he drives away evil spirits, heals sick people and animals, and attracts good luck." The painting is painted in the style of modern impressionism, with the highest quality oil paints on canvas, it is ready to hang on the wall and is equipped with hooks. The sides are painted with dark paint. The gallery presents the Swiss artist Anna Shesterikova, a high professional who has been working in the international art market for many years. At the Yacht Club
By Edward Cucuel
Located in Costa Mesa, CA
Artist Edward Cucuel and his wife Clara Lotte von Marcard spent their first two decades together in Germany, mostly in a villa on Lake Ammersee in Holzhausen near Munich. It is the works created in this period, mainly outdoor scenes of young women in fashionable attire of the day, that are most collected and appreciated among his works. It’s easy to see why- they capture an elegance and sense of calm and easy leisure- of long days in gardens or by the water.  This is one of those captured moments with a well-dressed woman watching the sailing yacht...
