I love junk food. Who doesn’t? In my latest series of paintings, I am presenting snippets of childhood.. images that I like to look at. Presenting these objects in a quiet and contemplative form, they can represent a time of joy or even bring out some darkness in their solitude.
I love to look closely at the design of a wrapper and the translucent popping color of a hard candy and find every bit of the rainbow in a piece of chocolate.
My desire is to bring a greater intimacy of these objects to the viewer, and represent a moment in time in the history of pop culture, and also all of our lives.
