Beautiful full basket bouquet of flowers on a pedestal by listed artist Louis Chappel.
Original oil on canvas. Dimensions: 8.5" x 11.5". The frame measures: 14" x 17".
The painting is signed in the lower right corner.
Very good condition.
Born in Belgium on Jan. 8, 1888. Having painted murals in New York for many years, Chappel continued in California. After a few years in San Francisco, he settled in Los Angeles. His work was described as antique in effect, with rich old colors deftly handled to represent age.
Chappel died in Los Angeles on Nov. 3, 1963.
This is a fine opportunity to acquire an original painting by this talented artist.
