Painted in one sitting, alla prima style, this still life has a classical feel but also incorporates lively brushwork, which creates energy and light in this piece. This still life is painted on linen adhered to a Gatorboard panel.
About the Artist
Pamela Blaies unexpectedly discovered her passion for art. A move with her family put her children in sad spirits, so to cheer them up she painted murals on their bedroom walls. With time, she began looking forward to painting more and more. She works in alla prima style, a technique in which artists don;t wait for paint to dry and work with layers of wet paint. The effects of light and shadows in the world greatly influence her work.

In the style of contemporary realism, artist Guigen Zha paints a porcelain vase of Buddha's head. A bouquet of blue lotus flowers blooms in the oriental still life. Succulent dew drops glaze the delicate petals. Guigen conveys the message of hope and peace for good in life.
