About the Item

London Taxi [2017] Limited Edition Transport Brushed aluminium Edition number 25 Image size: H:56 cm x W:76 cm Complete Size of Unframed Work: H:56 cm x W:76 cm x D:0.3cm Sold Unframed Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look I believe that if you can tell what something is solely by its outline that is the mark of brilliant design. The London Taxi is one of my favourite examples of this. Its shape is iconic. This piece was created from an original photograph of a taxi parked outside Charing Cross Station. I stripped the photograph back leaving a few edges to show its beautful lines and curves. The image is printed on a slim sheet of brushed aluminium, leaving metallic silver lines tracing the taxi’s shape, with the corners of the aluminium rounded to reflect the vehicle’s famous design. London Taxi is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it incredibly easy to hang. Michael has spent more than twenty years in the media industry working on entertainment programmes, talk shows, documentaries, animations and a children’s novel. But creating original and innovative art is his true passion. His latest work celebrates the beauty of the city through the shapes, outlines and colours that define its character. London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, Paris and Dubai all feature in Michael’s portfolio. The art is created by digitally manipulating and colouring his own photographs to produce unusual prints on aluminium, reclaimed wood, brass, even 1930’s copper-lite windows. He also creates neon, magnetic, and L.E.D installations. The metal pieces are printed on very thin sheets of brushed aluminium, giving the work an etched appearance. Michael works out of his studio at Wimbledon Art Studios in South London. Recent exhibitions include The Affordable Art Fair (Battersea, Hampstead, Singapore, New York, Milan), The Other Art Fair, and The Open Studios Show at Wimbledon Art Studios, amongst others.

City of Surprises, Cityscape Art, Contemporary Minimalist London Art, Line Art
By Michael Wallner
Located in Deddington, GB
City of Surprises is created from an original photograph taken from Greenwich Park. It features one of my favourite views of the London skyline - boasting some of the city’s most famous landmarks in a single line with one small difference - for legal reasons. The London Eye, Shard, BT Tower, St Paul’s Cathedral, and the Cheesegrater are all there, alongside one building that I’ve been asked not to feature in my work by its lawyers. Can you spot it? I love the shapes of the view’s outline so I have replaced the building that shall not be named with the head of shark. The ‘new’ London skyline is then laser-cut into gold mirror. City of Surprises is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 3 weeks. Michael Wallner has artworks for sale online and in our gallery with Wychwood Art. Black & White Photograp Desert Printed to Order Unframed Also available in 20"x30" Edition of 10 $725 The area that would become Gold Point, one of Nevada’s best ghost towns, was first settled by ranchers and a few miners around 1880. A small camp was formed a few hundred yards west of the present-day townsite at an outcropping of limestone and was called Lime Point. When new discoveries of both gold and silver established the major mining towns of Tonopah and Goldfield, Nevada in the early 1900s, a flood of prospectors returned to the old Lime Point mining camp to try their luck. In 1902 silver was discovered in the area and within no time, the old camp...
