Between 1998 – 2002, Anderson & Low photographed the National Danish Gymnastic Team (NDGT). Over the course of several years the athletes posed as subjects for a series of images based on the four elements. Rather than depicting the gymnasts training or competing, the photographers instead were after a stylized abstraction more closely aligned with telling a loose narrative and animating classical statuary.
