Artist Biography -
Will Adler is a 38 year old west coast photographer known for his distinctive take on the surf world. Adler's laid back, light infused images, (as often of women surfers as men) convey the spirit and atmosphere of place as much as the action of the sport and have earned him a cult following in surfing and photography circles. For his summer show at Danziger Gallery, Adler is showing pictures from Hawaii, California, and Montauk shot for himself and for magazines such as Juxtapoz, Neon, Surfer, WAX, and The New Yorker, His commercial clients have included Quiksilver, Patagonia, Nike, and Hixsept.

"Richard Heeps' seductive, highly saturated colours and sophisticated pictorial structures demonstrate a true love and empathy for his subject matter - be it cool descriptive interiors, still life or landscape. His distinctive style pushes the limits of photography."
He is a film-based photographer, using a range of vintage analogue cameras. He considers himself to have three studios, the external studio of whichever location he may be shooting, his darkroom where I make my master prints and his home studio where he does the postproduction where the artworks are mounted framed and finished. He aims to make accessible artwork without compromising on quality and making everything in house he is in control of each step to achieve that.
Although he was brought up in East Anglia (England), he was heavily influenced by America. he visited American bases, kept magazine cuttings and followed drag racing. The speed, lifestyle and technicolour is reflected in his imagery. 'American' colour is a major aspect in his work, it drives his equipment and material choices.
At age ten he began participating in art shows and became comfortable with showing his work and the praise and criticism which is part of an artists development. In his early paintings Manhattan was reoccurring theme, fascinated with New York.
Throughout his professional career he has been lucky enough to exhibit in Museums and Public Galleries since the 1980's. Since 2008 his gallery Bleach Box...

Chaco Terada, originally from Japan, was trained at a young age in the art of calligraphy. When Chaco was in her twenties she had the opportunity to work on her calligraphy in ten countries as a part of the cultural exchange programs, Up with People and The Ship for World Youth. When her time with those groups ended she moved to the United States, where she discovered photography and started incorporating it with calligraphy. Chaco has led demonstrations and has taught calligraphy workshops at the Dallas Museum of Art, The Crow Asian Art Museum, Greenhill School, and Saint Mark’s School of Texas among others. Process Statement
My work uses the Japanese and Chinese calligraphic characters that I have practiced since childhood. I take a line from one character, and when that brushstroke is made it tells me where the next one should be placed. This method of working is untraditional.
