Flow / silvered is a metallic Lambda photographic print, optionally mounted to Plexiglass and Dibond, and fitted with a hidden subframe, ready to install. Work can be supplied unmounted and ready to frame if you’d prefer. The work is individually signed and numbered verso, with both a unique catalogue raisonné number and the edition number for guaranteed authenticity. Torsion / primer is a ten colour archival pigment print on 305gsm, 100% cotton, Hahnemühle fine art paper. The work can be supplied unframed, or framed and ready to hang. I tend to use fairly minimal glazed and painted tulipwood frames, and set the work ‘straight in’ under the fillets, without a window mount. Torsion / primer is a variant of an original base drawing that was used to create the ‘torqued’ forms of the more complex Torsion / REZ works on Plexiglass. The idea comes from a number of places but in particular the modernist sculptural work of Walter Leblanc, and his idea that if you heat up a thin bar of steel, and torque one end through a number of rotations, whilst clamping the other end firmly, the resulting form will be a hugely satisfying candy twist of metal, spiralling up or down, depending on your choice of rotational direction. Le Klint Studio is an inspiration to anyone who loves paper folding, contemporary design, and light. So, of course, I couldn’t resist making a series of origami like geometries for a new set of works on paper in 2015. Le Klint Studio, to my mind, are particularly well known for their folded paper pendant shades, contemporary designs which are as beautiful as they are ubiquitous. The image I made is not an identikit line work, more an homage based around some of the origami like folds they use, with the addition of colour glazes and offset transparencies. Abstract. Vibrant. Painting. About the Artist: "I contemplate every color, mark, and placement of the line to formulate what I call rhythmic velocities: relationships of color and motion that give life to the composition, creating a heartbeat. I am interested in the duality of math and design: through repetition, a line made of color becomes a rhythmic pattern. This concept is found when composing music, organic landscapes and architectural structures. By referencing these sources, my abstractions transcend their formal components, reaching beyond a minimalist canon. My work is composed of hard edges and thin lines set against an abstract field or a pictorial space. Each color has a quickness that is relative to the colors surrounding it; this gives my paintings visual movement and dislocates the viewer.
