About the Item
Patty deGrandpre’s “Are We There Yet? (Southwest)” is a 5.5 x 14.5 inch unique abstract inkjet print represented on 11 x 16.5 inch Awagami Bamboo Japanese paper embracing both the art of digital printmaking, minimalism, and creative photography. Four vividly distinct images depicting the United States Southwest become the focal point of this refined abstract landscape including a mesa in orange, a leafless desert tree in yellow, and a sunset in blue. A contrasting black and white image depicting a Texas roadside abandoned gas station interrupts the horizontal progression of structure and fields of vibrant chromatic tones. A thin black bar sits vertically within the gradating blue of the sunset thus adding a graphic element to this elegant composition. Finding inspiration from her own experiences and travel, deGrandpre has an extensive catalog of photographs and images which are catalyst of her art making. Images are deconstructed and manipulated as she skillfully creates an amalgam by integrating the pictorial with the abstract. This one of a kind vibrant contemporary landscape is signed and dated on the bottom right corner of the print and will ship flat in a protective sleeve ready for the frame of your choice.
