About the Item

Patty deGrandpre’s “Delivered to the Wrong House” is a 14.5 x 11 inch mixed media unique print represented on 20 x 16 inch Awagami Bamboo paper embracing both traditional printmaking techniques, digital inkjet printing, and collage. Deconstructed sky and elliptical shapes in tones of black, grey, and white are the background to this dynamic abstract landscape. The focal point of this contemporary work is the fragmented iteration of a house layered within various shapes that have been inkjet printed onto Kraft paper facing that was removed from a corrugated delivery box then collaged onto the center of the print. The subtle grey, yellow, olive green and black hues of the multiple dwellings, forms, and atmospheric imagery blend harmoniously within the warm brown tone of the Kraft paper while the type and symbols that remain provide a contrasting graphic element. deGrandpre uses her extensive catalog of photographs and imagery that she digital deconstructs and manipulates as a catalyst for her art making. She skillfully creates an amalgam with the recognizable and the abstract. deGrandpre’s inkjet printer becomes her press as she combines digital image transfer with traditional monoprinting techniques as well as collage. This unique modern landscape is signed and dated on the bottom right corner. This one of a kind piece will ship flat in a protective sleeve ready for the frame of your choice. Patty deGrandpre is a New Mexico based artist. She has participated in many exhibitions both on local and national levels. She has been featured in a number of periodicals and has received multiple awards for both fine art and printmaking. Patty DeGrandpre is represented by Fountain Street Gallery based in Boston, MA.
