About the Item
Patty deGrandpre’s “Santa Fe, Color and Reflection” is a 9.25 x 15.25 inch unique abstract print represented on 12 x 16.5 inch Awagami Kozo thin white paper embracing both digital printmaking and creative photography. Two distinct New Mexico landscapes are placed on the bottom half of this vivid print. Desert terrain in warm purple sits to the left of a contrasting green and orange hued graphic depiction of desert trees and cactus. A screen of fragmented black, blue, and pastel green clouds occupy the top half of this print and merge elegantly with the Southwest panorama below. Two small spheres as well as a black image of the iconic Santa Fe Railyard Water Tower blend playfully within this vibrant artwork. deGrandpre’s inkjet printer becomes her press as she skillfully integrates abstract form with deconstructed and cropped photographs. Layer upon layer of ink is printed onto the media creating a stunning fusion of fields lush with color, unexpected shapes, and pictorial imagery. This one of a kind print is signed and dated under the bottom right corner of the image and will ship flat in a protective sleeve ready for the frame of your choice. This modern depiction of desert land and sky would make a striking addition to any contemporary collection.

Patty deGrandpre
Patty deGrandpre is a New Mexico based artist. She received her BFA in Visual Design at Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1987. Her studio is in her home in Lamy, New Mexico. She has participated in many shows, both juried and invitational, at local, regional and national levels. In addition to three solo exhibitions, she has received accolades and awards over the years in both Fine Art and Printmaking.
