"Sponge Brain Upside Down, 2020" is a captivating archival pigment print by Emilio Garcia, renowned for his brain-inspired sculptures. Born in Tarragona, Spain, in January 1981, Garcia's fascination with cognitive development and pop culture drives his exploration of human brain neuroplasticity through vibrant and iconic contemporary sculptures and paintings.
Educated at the Escola d'Art i Disseny de Tarragona in Graphic Design, Garcia began his career in cartoon animation studios in Barcelona, working as a layout artist and illustrator. Transitioning to freelance art direction, he collaborated with major international companies such as Berlitz Corporation, Hitachi, and Diesel, specializing in user interface design and interactive content. His work has been featured in esteemed publications, including the "Web Design Index" series and "Taschen's 1000 Favorite Websites."
Concerned with society's increasing digitalization and detachment from tactile experiences, Garcia redirected his focus in 2008, embracing physical objects as a means of creative expression. Under his brand, The Secret Lapo Laboratories (also known as Lapolab), he embarked on a new journey as a product designer, sculptor, and painter, exploring the innovative possibilities of plastic.
This print encapsulates Garcia's dynamic exploration of the intersection between art, neuroscience, and contemporary culture, inviting viewers to engage with the complexities of the human mind through vibrant imagery and tactile forms.

About the artist:
Charles Hinman is a New York Minimal painter who pioneered shaped canvas paintings through his innovative use of shadow, light, and shape with complex mathematical formulae. Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, Hinman holds his BFA from Syracuse University and later moved to New York City to study at the Arts Student League of New York. His first studio in the early 1960s was shared with James Rosenquist in an old sail factory in the Coenties Slip in Lower Manhattan, and he later shared a studio with Robert Indiana on Spring Street. In 1965, he moved into his own studio and living space at 231A Bowery in the same building with artists Will Insley and Max Gimblett, where he resided for over fifty years.
Hinman’s work has been included in era defining exhibitions alongside many of his Minimalist and Conceptual contemporaries. His art career began with a seminal exhibition at Sidney Janis Gallery, titled '7 New Artists', and thereafter a solo exhibition at Richard Feigen Gallery in 1964. This was followed by an historic exhibition at Tibor de Nagy Gallery in 1965, "Shape and Structure", curated by Frank Stella and MET Curator, Henry Geldzahler, which included artists, Donald Judd, Carl Andre and Will Insley.
Charles Hinman’s artwork is exhibited internationally and collected by major institutions and private collectors across the world. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Denver Art Museum, the Nagaoka Museum in Japan, and the Tel Aviv Museum in Israel, among others. He is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and four Pollock-Krasner Foundation grants.

This extremely rare and historic invitation/exhibition poster was designed by Duchamp on the occasion of a group exhibition at New York's Cordier & Ekstrom Gallery for the Marcel Duchamp Fund of the Americas Chess Foundation in 1966. Duchamp used the RSVP cards he sent to various artists as a design for this invitation. Many of these RSVP cards had the artist's autographs, and a few, like the one from Alexander Calder, included personal notes to Duchamp. Some of the more famous of the 36 artists featured in print who participated by donating works to this fundraiser include: Jasper Johns, Karl Gerstner, David Hare, Salvador Dali, Enrico Donati, Roberto Matta, Isamu Noguchi, Alexander Calder, Dorothea Tanning, Jean Tinguely, Niki De St. Phalle, George Segal, Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Meret Oppenheim, Alfonso Ossorio, Robert Motherwell, Claes Oldenburg, Man Ray, Joan Miro, Rene Magritte, Richard Lindner, Roy Lichtenstein, Arman, Enrico Baj, Hans Bellmer, Victor Brauner, Alexander Liberman, William Copley, Cleve Gray and several others. However -- did you notice one name was noticeably absent? Andy Warhol! How could that be? Well, it turns out
Andy Warhol has actually expected to be invited to exhibit but for some reason was overlooked. He did, however, attend the opening and filmed Duchamp in one of his famous "Screen Tests...
