Original colored lithograph of the horse races at Longchamp in Paris, France. The lithographs is done in a classic Art Deco style. Condition is excellent. Circa 1980. Edition size is 105/225. Artist signed in pencil lower right margin. Under glass. Recently professionally rematted. Overall framed in thin brass colored metal frame. Framed measurements are 26.25 by 32.5 inches. Provenance: A Southampton, New York estate.
Nina Rose captures the elegance and femininity of women in her art. A modern-day Erte, her style is inspired by the 20th Century master
and deeply rooted in the Art Deco era. Using a combination of fashion and technology, Rose imbues an atmosphere of the Roaring Twenties in her works,
but with an exotic and luxurious twist. Rose has a taste for all that is extravagant. She adorns her delicate, slender figures in fashions from the 20’s and 30’s
and uses technological symbols, including classic automobiles, to create a sense of nostalgia.
The Longchamp Racecourse (French: Hippodrome de Longchamp) is a 57 hectare horse-racing facility located on the Route des Tribunes at the Bois de Boulogne in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, France. It is used for flat racing and is noted for its variety of interlaced tracks and a famous hill that provides a real challenge to competing thoroughbreds. It has several racetracks varying from 1,000 to 4,000 metres in length, with 46 different starting posts.
