GUSTAVE DORE (French 1832-1883) LES DENICHCURS D'AIGLES, (THE EAGLE FINDERS) c. 1856-7 (Beraldi 73?) Lithograph signed in the stone at lower left image corner. Unknown edition Image 14 x 10 1/2 inches.Sheet slightly trimmed, 16 1/2 x 12 3/4 inches. Publishing line lower left: Imp. Vayron, Paris lower right: Paris au Bureau du Musee Francais Anglais, 20, Rue Berger. Good rich impression From a very rare series of lithographs, plate 17. A couple of minor scuffs to the surface only with a raking light. Some minor foxing verso and a little tape at sheet edges. Most of Dore's images are wood engravings. He did very few lithographs A VERY COMPELLING IMAGE
