BROWN LADY II is an original hand drawn lithograph by the American artist and Pop Art icon, Peter Max printed in an edition of 100, using traditional hand lithography techniques on archival Arches paper, 100% acid free. BROWN LADY II is a fanciful portrait of an elegant woman dressed in brown, wearing an elaborately adorned flower hat with lush painterly blossoms in shades of warm red, yellow, rose pink, violet, deep purple, touches of aqua, green, blue and black; her stark white face and neckline contrasting against the warm deep brown interior setting. Impressive large vertical image, print size - 36 x 27 inches, unframed, superb condition, pencil signed by Peter Max. Edition size - 165, plus proofs Year published - 1991 Printer - JK Fine Art Editions Co., NJ Peter Max (1937 - ) The artist Peter Max was born in Berlin, Germany in 1937. His father, was a pearl merchant and moved his family to Shanghai, during the turmoil of pre-World War II. From China, the family moved to Tibet, then Israel and eventually to Paris. At the age of 16, the family made their final move to the United States. Peter Max began his art studies in New York at the Art Student's League and continued at the Pratt Institute and School of Visual Arts. "As I create art, it is like a love affair. About the Artist: Kenneth Adams was born in Kansas, and first started his art career in Topeka during 1913. He studied with artist, G.M. Stone, who became the basis for his formal education that began three years later at the Art Institute of Chicago. Adams served in WWI, and when he was discharged, he moved to New York City to study at the Art Students League. Soon after completing courses there, Adams moved abroad to study Italian and French art. In 1924, Adams was back in Kansas, where his friend Andrew Dasburg encouraged him to move to New Mexico. Adams settled in Taos, and remained there for the next twelve years. He was the youngest and last member of the Taos Society...
