This stunning 1932 original bullfighting poster by the celebrated Spanish painter Carlos Ruano Llopis (1878–1950) was created for the summer season (Verano de 1932) at the new Plaza de Toros of San Sebastián. Known for his evocative, elegant depictions of Spanish cultural life, Ruano Llopis here captures the grandeur and festivity of the corrida. The composition foregrounds a poised woman in an orange dress with a traditional black embroidered shawl, seated serenely amid blooming roses as matadors prepare in the background.
