About the Item
This version of Archie Held's "Eve" sculpture in aluminum offers a slick vertical sculpture for a contemporary setting indoors or outdoors. "Eve" is also available as a water sculpture in bronze or stainless steel. Please inquire for more information.
Archie Held was born in Palo Alto, California, and has been creating metal sculptures since the 1970s. He worked on his undergraduate degree at UCLA in painting, sculpture, and graphic arts from 1975 to 1979. He continued at UCLA working on his Master's degree in sculpture. He is the winner of the Jim Marcelius Memorial Scholarship Award for Sculpture 1980.
Held's flawlessly designed and executed water sculptures combine a clean architectural context with sensuously flowing curves. As he employs only the best available materials to fastidiously construct his incomparable fountains, they provide many years of carefree delight and assured enjoyment. The artist's minimalist sculptural works exhibit the same concern for pure form and rhythmic energy. Held's outstanding pieces are found in many public, corporate, and private collections throughout the world.
