Andrzej Kreutz-Majewski Animal Paintings

Andrzej Kreutz-Majewski was a Polish artist born in 1936 and died in 2011. Known all around the world as a stage designer, he is also a renowned painter. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts of Kraków in 1959 and Rome in 1962, he started his career working at the Theater of Kraków and the Warsaw Opera, as a stage designer, in particular in "Le Sacre du Printemps" by Stravinsky. Kreutz-Majewski works with some of the most famous operas and theaters all around the world, such as the Cologne Opera, the Covent Garden Opera in London, The Paris Opera House, The Hambourg Opera and the Municipal Theater of Luxembourg. He produces illustrious scenographies of operas, such as Debussy's Prodigal Son or Honegger's Judith. A succession of coronations distinguish the artist, he was honored under the order of Poland in 1993 and was the winner of numerous prestigious prizes, including the Prize of the Biennale of Arts in Paris in 1961, Quadriennale in Prague in 1967 and Prize of first degree of the Ministry of Culture and Art in 1975.
