Phyllis Diller (1917–2012) was an American comedian, actress, author, musician, and visual artist, known for her eccentric stage persona, wild hair, self-deprecating humor, and iconic cackling laugh. One of the first female comics to achieve national fame, she influenced Joan Rivers, Roseanne Barr, and Ellen DeGeneres and had a strong gay following.
Diller openly promoted plastic surgery, earning recognition from the cosmetic surgery industry.
