An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian acid etched glass and English sterling silver mounted claret jug; an addition to our wine and drink related silverware collection.
This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver and cut glass claret jug has a circular, rounded bulbous form.
The cylindrical neck of the jug is fitted with an impressive sterling silver, hallmarked mount embellished with impressive chased floral spray decoration on a matte background, all encompassed with a plain border accented with simple drop motifs.
The decoration to the mount incorporates an oval vacant cartouche to either side.
The underside of the plain spout features a simplified quatrefoil floral motif encompassed with a lozenge shaped border.
The mount retains the original hinged, hallmarked cover encompassed with further floral decoration and surmounted with an impressive pierced interlacing scrolling leaf decorated thumb piece.
The rim of the cover, lower rim of the mount and girdle to the glass body are encircled with applied bead decoration.

An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver Old English Thread pattern salad servers; an addition to our silver flatware collection
These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver salad servers have been crafted in the Old English Military Thread pattern.
The spoon has a plain rounded bowl and the fork has six tines.
The anterior surface of each silver server is embellished with the contemporary engraved crest of an eagle rising, in its beak an escutcheon pendent by a ribbon, thereon a hank of cotton.
The crest is encompassed with a garter bearing the motto 'Multa tuli fecique' - I have borne and done many things*.
The reverse surface of the serving fork and spoon incorporates a pip to the terminal, in addition to a rounded heel to the bowl/drop.
These exceptional solid silver salad servers are the finest of their type you could hope to acquire
* The heraldic crest and motto pertain to the Arkwright family.

A magnificent, fine and impressive, large pair of antique George V English sterling silver bowls / centrepieces in the Art Nouveau style, an addition to our presentation silverware collection.
These magnificent and large antique George V English sterling silver bowls/centrepieces have a compressed circular form onto a knopped pedestal and domed circular foot.
The plain body of each piece is encircled with an impressive band of applied and chased olive leaf festoon decoration consisting of overlapping leaf designs with a bead motif to subdivision.
Both sides of each piece is further ornamented with exceptional and large applied vacant cartouche bordered with a ribbon tied oak and olive branch, in addition to a scrolling and leaf motif to the upper portion.
The upper portions of these concaved cartouches are subtly elevated and joined to the moulded decoration to the shaped rim.
These antique silver bowls are fitted with impressive and large Art Nouveau style scrolling handles with plain plateaued upper portions and subtle thumbpieces.
The knop to the pedestal is encircled with an impressive chased band of oak leaf and acorn decoration accented with a tied ribbon design.

A magnificent, fine and impressive set of six antique George III English sterling silver meat skewers or letter openers made by Paul Storr, an addition to our diverse flatware collection.
These magnificent antique George IV English sterling silver meat skewers or letter openers has a plain tapered form.
This exceptional set is comprised of three pairs of meat skewers, each pair graduating in size.
Each skewer is ornamented with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest below a baron's coronet.
The terminal of each skewer is embellished with a chased decorated shell design below a reed decorated circular ring loop finger piece.
Sets of six graduated antique silver skewers are difficult to locate, especially those by the renowned and important London silversmith Paul Storr.
The original use of this item was purely as a game/meat skewer. Due to its form, this piece may certainly be used as an effective letter openers

This exceptional antique George V sterling silver tea service has been modelled in the Queen Anne style.
The lower portion of each piece is embellished with embossed batwing decoration.
The upper portion of each piece of this silver tea set is plain and unembellished.
The teapot is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover embellished with further batwing decoration to the domed portion and is surmounted with the original carved painted wood and sterling silver fluted, cushion shaped finial.
The teapot retains the original angular carved painted wood handle with a plain scrolling thumbpiece.
The teapot is fitted with a swan necked spout ornamented with further embossed batwing decoration to the lower portion.
The cream jug and sugar bowl have plain angular sterling silver handles ornamented with plain moulded decoration to each handpiece.
