This elegant iridescent gold Favrile art glass vase was made by Tiffany Studios operating under the direction of Louis Comfort Tiffany. Tiffany Favrile Glass was first offered to the public in 1893 and this hand-blown piece dates to the mid-to-late 1920s. The vase has a warm golden glow and was crafted with a wide domed pedestal base that gives way to a ribbed body. The body flares slightly as it rises and transitions dramatically to a wide shallow neck that terminates in a scalloped-edge rim. As seen in the accompanying photographs, the well-balanced piece is nicely proportioned and displays beautifully. The vase stands 8.375" as measured to its tallest point and is 3.75" across the rim. The foot is 4" foot from edge to edge. The piece is free of chips and cracks and is presented in original condition with no restoration or repair. The underside bears a typical Tiffany Studios late production compound number signature reading L. C. Tiffany Inc. - Favrile and includes shape number 1548 followed by serial number 3164 N. This exceptional late 19th century three-piece French garniture includes two footed urns and a low footed centerpiece bowl. The urns and bowl are composed of patinated bronze with ormolu mounts which include neoclassical mask detail and rest on square marble plinths with ormolu bases. The pieces have distinctive elongated handles at the sides which terminate in stylized pendant decoration. As seen in the accompanying photographs, the exterior of the urns and bowl feature applied bronze decoration in the form of ornate foliate swags with flowers. Please be sure to zoom in on the photos to better appreciate the detail of the cast decoration, it is impressive. The urns stand 15.75" tall as measured to the top of the rims. This hand decorated midcentury ceramic vase was designed by highly regarded Italian sculptor Marcello Fantoni for American importer Raymor. The 13" tall vase has a flattened double gourd form and features colorful glaze executed in shades of blue, green, purple, blue and black. As seen in the accompanying photographs the glaze has a textural, layered quality with long drips and alligatored areas characteristic of the complexity of Fantoni's work. The underside of the piece is signed Fantoni for Raymor along with its country of origin, Italy. This late 19th century porcelain vase was designed by Eduard Stellmacher for Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel Amphora of Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia. The piece has a Classic Art Nouveau form and features a dimensional nymph partially encased in the leaves of a lily of the valley plant. The maiden's body is accented by two delicate arched tendrils finished in gilt which bear small white lily of the valley blossoms, also accented in gilt. The remainder of the piece is painted in shades of light green and ochre with gilt highlights. An example of this shape with similar painted decoration can be seen on page 37 of Richard L. Scott's 'Ceramics From The House Of Amphora 1890-1915.' This 13.75" tall hand blown art glass vase was made by Lundberg Studios of California. The large vase has an elegant flared form and has been finished in Lundberg's deep iridescent gold Doré finish, heavily influenced by the techniques used in L.C. Tiffany's Favrile Gold Lustre and Steuben's Gold Aurene decorative glass. The highly reflective iridescent finish has hints of red which add depth to the mottled gold color of the piece. This ivory porcelain vase has a blush colored body with gilt accents at the foot and handles. The front and back piece have been hand-painted with a floral motif in a Japanese style and feature the images of gilt accented purple orchids with long green leaves. This striking amphora Art Nouveau vase was made in the Turn-Teplitz region of Bohemia by Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel, established in 1892. The vase has an ovoid form with a thick molded floral and foliate band located at the neck. The body of the vase rests upon a raised pedestal foot decorated with a series of intertwined stylized roots. The neck and foot have been glazed in a matte green color with burnished gold highlights. The body of the vase is flanked by a pair of arched gilded handles made in the form of naturalistic woody branches. The body of the vase has been finished in a mottled matte glaze executed in a dull gold color enabling the cream color beneath to show through. The center of the vase transitions to a violet hue which is covered by a high glaze iridescent band having pink and purple undertones. The iridescent band features an armorial crest executed in black accented with gilded details. The crest itself consists of a checkerboard shield surmounted by a trio of stylized flowers with a spade motif, all of which are flanked by lions rampant. The design includes a series of large dots arrayed in a symmetrical manner. The opposite side of the vase echoes the motif found on the front and has a checkerboard shield, nine spade-shaped flowers and several dots.
