This masterful and extraordinary painting, filled with ghostly nudes in various poses in a dark interior, with Orpheus playing the lyre in the garden outside lit in an otherworldly golden light was clearly created by Pavel Tchelitchew, Eugene Berman or another Mid-Century master of Surrealism.
