Nude on Red Chair, Benjamin Casiano, 2015
About the Item
Original, contemporary painting by artist Benjamin Casiano. By Virtue of his academic training at the Pratt Institute (Brooklyn, NY) and years of professional experience as an art director and graphic designer, Casiano has developed many talents, but never steered away from his first love of painting. He paints every day. Today his work is owned by corporate and private collectors throughout the US. Over the last few years, he has developed his own unique style and technique, drawing inspiration from the diverse worlds of stained glass, fashion and graphic design. He's gone from photorealism to cubism, but it's the abstract figurative movement that’s had the most profound impact on his work. Using geometric shapes & color gradients, his figures are executed in a loose brushstroke technique creating a form of expressionism. With saturated colors and rich textures, he creates intense definition to covey a specific mood and feeling. He often says that if he could express himself in words, he would have no reason to paint.
This acrylic on canvas measures 29" x 35", including frame and is ready for the wall.
