Bazooka Joe Striking Acrylic on Paper Drawing
Located in New York, NY
This acrylic painting on paper by the Israeli artist Bazooka Joe is a striking, surreal composition that merges pop culture, symbolism, and psychedelic aesthetics. The scene unfolds against a vivid green background, with figures and objects outlined in stark black, creating a bold contrast.
The central figures appear to be a pair of fantastical, almost punk-inspired characters. The one on the left has exaggerated facial features, black star-like face paint reminiscent of KISS band members, and an elaborate black headdress with a polka-dotted bow. Their outfit combines patterns, spikes, and surreal bodily distortions, including tentacle-like appendages emerging from the arms. The figure on the right sports a yellow headpiece...

Rare Jewish Purim Drinking Mug, Bohemian, Circa, 1905 Judaica
Located in New York, NY
Rare! Purim Drinking Mug, Bohemian, Circa, 1905
The central fish motif is symbolic of Purim, as this holiday occurs during the Hebrew month of Adar, who zodiacal symbol is fish. Fish also designate abundance, fertility, and good luck.
At top in Hebrew, it says "With the entrance of Adar rejoicing is increased" Continuing at bottom "Luck of Adar, (luck of) fish, " and finally "L'Chayım Bridis, " a toast half in Yiddish ("To life, brothers!").
Drinking utensils specifically associated with Purim are very rare. While a few pewter wine flagons and silver wine cups for Purim are scattered across Jewish museum collections around the world, this is the only known vessel made for drinking beer that was decorated for this holiday.
This stein was likely a unique commission for a beer- loving Bohemian Jew to be used on this festive holiday that encourages mild inebriation
Origin: Bohemian region of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (Czech Republic) Circa, 1905

Large Ludwig Wolpert Sterling Silver Round Tray
Located in New York, NY
Large Kudwig Wolpert sterling silver round tray with pierced Hebraic prayer decoration on rim and a wooden cutting board. Center back is marked 'Wolpert.' The Hebrew words pierced around the tray 'מזון וצידה השביע לנפשינו' mean "with sustenance and provision, He has satisfied our soul." It appears in the Nishmat Kol Chai prayer, recited during Shabbat and holiday services as part of the blessings of praise and gratitude. The prayer expresses thanks to God for His goodness and mercy, highlighting the blessings and kindness He bestows upon the world.
Considered one of the greatest Jewish goldsmit and designer, Ludwig Yehuda Wolpert, was born in Germany, 1900-1981. He was born in a small village near Heidelberg, Germany to a poor Religious Orthodox family. During his childhood he suffered from discrimination due to his family's Lithuanian origin and his cleft lip, as well. Following the presentation of the works in the 1930's exhibition "Kult und Form" (Ritual and form") at the Jewish Museum in Berlin, his work became well-known in the German Jewish world. His works show the great influence of Modern design, especially of the Bauhaus movement. Wolpert's works avoid decoration, using clean and geometric shapes. In 1933, following the Nazi rise to power in Germany, he immigrated to the Land of Israel with his family. There, he worked in the "B. Friedland" Workshop where he designed and manufactured silver tableware and ritual articles. Together with Victor Solomon...

A Silver German Havdalah Spice Box, Early 20th Century
Located in New York, NY
A silver German spice box from the early 20th century is a finely crafted, understated yet elegant piece that reflects the high level of craftsmanship typical of German silversmiths during this period.
The box is rectangular, with smooth silver surfaces and the design leans toward simplicity, characteristic of the early 20th century's shift toward Art Deco or late Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) influences. The hinged lid features clean geometric patterns that frame the engraving written in Hebrew at the center flanked by flower engravings and securely closes over the compartment with a latch that holds the fragrant spices. The sides of the spice box are beautifully engraved with more Hebrew verses relating to the blessings of the spices and flanked by flower motifs.
