Artist Biography: Romeo Tabuena is a Philippine-born painter rooted in Eastern sensibility. He has been a resident of Mexico for more than four decades.
Born in Lloilo in 1921, he studied architecture at the Mapua Institute of Technology and a fine arts course, majoring in painting, at the University of the Philippines. He also studied at the Art Students League in New York and at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris.
Tabuena decided to settle in Mexico and to make it the base of his painting career. But he has maintained links with his native country through participation in its major art projects, and despite his long residence in Mexico, he has retained his Philippine citizenship.
One of his major works since 1957 is a government-commissioned mural, Filipiniana, at the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. His other exhibits include a ten-year retrospective show in 1959 at the Philippine Art Gallery in Manila. Artist Biography: Otis Dozier (1904-1987) was raised on a cotton farm between Forney and Mesquite, developing a love for art and nature at a young age. After his family moved into Dallas in 1920, he received his earliest art training from well-known instructor Vivian Aunspaugh. Following his 1925 graduation from Forest High School, Dozier continued his art studies at the Dallas Art Institute with Olin Travis and Tom Stell. Also, during the 1920s, he accompanied his parents and three sisters on at least three automobile trips through the American West, familiarizing himself with the region that he would later depict in his art.

Artist Biography: Jim Pirtle was born in Houston, TX in 1960. In High School, he was selected "Most Nonconformist." He went to Baylor University in Waco, TX, and received a BA in history but more importantly, was a member of the NoZe Brotherhood. The group was an underground mask-wearing secret society of satirists that through writing, campus interventions, and performance art exposed the hypocrisy of conservative Baptists. After college, he moved to Austin, TX, and got a job as an orderly at the Austin State Hospital. This was a crash course education in the extremes of human behavior. After two years in the locked up insaneness of collecting urine, breaking up fights and mopping up spontaneous miscarriages he jumped to the other extreme, moving back to Houston and becoming a Kindergarten teacher for 10 years ? innocence and hope.

Artist Biography: A graduate of Connecticut College, Krawczyk has studied fine art throughout Europe and apprenticed with various acclaimed sculptors. He realizes his biomorphic sculptures by cutting sheet stainless steel or bronze and welding, pounding and shaping with focused heat. Each sculpture is therefore unique, as the works are never cast from a mold.
Krawczyk draws inspiration from artists such as Picasso, Henry Moore and David Smith. He is not only influenced by the obvious masterful techniques of these artists, but also by their philosophies of the sculptural process.
Jon Krawczyk works in stainless steel, either brushed or highly polished, and in bronze, to which he applies intense patinas of earth tones and bright blues and greens. These works appear to have the geological marks of boulders, as sentinels that look comfortable in natural environments, can be abstract tendrils or wispy smoke-like forms that defy gravity, or long, thin, yet powerful lines that seem to jump into the sky.
