The Rattan base has an elegant form which elegantly connects the seat with the distinctive footrest. The seats are reupholstered in a thick woolen bouclé fabric. Tito Agnoli was born into an Italian family, in Lima, Peru, in 1931. He came to Italy after the war. Trained as a painter (having studied with Sironi), in 1949 he enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture, where he graduated in 1959 and was assistant to Gio Ponti and to Carlo De Darli. However, even in the early Fifties, he was already carrying out an intense professional activity in the field of design. He has created projects for, among others, Arflex, Cinova, Lema, Matteo Grassi, Molteni, Montina, Oluce, Pierantonio Bonacina, Poltrona Frau, Schiffini, Ycami. Several times recommended for the Compasso d’Oro (Golden Compass) Award, in 1986 he won the gold medal at the Neocon in Chicago. Some of his pieces are kept in the permanent collection of the MoMa in New York. He died in Milan on February 2012. The Italian company, Vittorio Bonacina was founded by Giovanni Bonacina near Milan in 1889. His idea was to combine exotic rattan imported from Southeast Asia, with two traditional crafts, common in Brianza, an area – basket weaving and furniture. European vine is a beautiful material, but very unstable. Turns rattan wicker furniture in a high-quality alternative to conventional furniture. Diligence and perseverance Giovanni Bonacina brought great rewards, and soon his efforts were rewarded on several international exhibitions. The son of Giovanni Victor, Managing Director of the company since 1951, has written to the traditional production in the direction of innovative design. A collaboration with talented young designers has made the company Vittorio Bonacina legislator furniture fashion. Famous designers of the second half of the 20th century: Francesco Bettoni, Franco Albini, Giovanni Travisa, Sergio Asti, Carlo Colombo made in creating furniture with rattan creative thought, making the wicker chair, a genuine artefact of culture. A striking example of this can serve as a chair "Margherita" (1950), designed by the great Franco Albini. This chair won the gold medal at the exhibition in 1951, at the present time it is in the permanent collection of the Museum of modern art in New York (MOMA). Working with only one material, it is necessary to know all of its properties and capabilities. Rattan embodies a powerful vitality and a constant flow of all life. Factory Vittorio Bonacina uses more than forty types of Asian rattan. All the furniture is done by hand. Wicker furniture Vittorio Bonacina looks airy, thin and fragile, but in fact, rattan is a durable and reliable material. Rattan furniture can withstand very severe loads. Furniture Vittorio Bonacina combines the classic and the exotic. It fascinates with its natural naturalness and imaginative originality. Furniture Vittorio Bonacina is the wickerwork, has become the standard of contemporary design art.
