About the Item

Reminiscent of the architectural designs popularized by Balenciaga, this unique party dress features a stand-away silhouette that appears to float independently from the body that wears it. A wearable hourglass, its shape is nipped in at the petal bust and again at the hem, while its exaggerated hips recall the panniers of the 18th century. A confection made even more beautiful by the bright pink floral embroidery that adorns the bust and thigh. Ballet length spaghetti strap party dress with petal bust, exaggerated hips and bubble hemline; bodice lightly boned. White chiffon overlay embroidered with bright pink flowers at bust and thighs. Rear metal zipper closure with top hook and eye; satin bows at left and right of zipper top. Bodice unlined; attached interior crinoline with rear ties. Interior hang straps. fabric: nylon taffeta, nylon chiffon, tulle noteworthy: dry clean only alterations: added satin bows at zipper apex, repaired minor blemishes in chiffon at underarms condition: good with above repairs (see photos) and light underarm discoloration measurements: straps: 15” bust: 36” waist: 26” hips: free length: 43 ½” from shoulder, 36” from underarm sweep: 64” label: none size: no size tag present; comparable to modern size small
