Cast Iron Indian Game with Rider and Horses
About the Item
Welded cast iron toy from the Indian 900s depicting a chariot with a square canopy and conical dome. We can identify this toy-statue as a depiction of Krishna’s Rath Gita (Bhagavad Gita).
Arjuna and Hanuman actually met on a first occasion, in which Arjuna helped the monkey-god, a manifestation of Shiva, with his wits, advising him to build a bridge of arrows instead of stones. After that, Hanuman, Rama's proud lieutenant, recognized the identity between Krishna and Rama, both of whom are in fact avatars of the god Vishnu, and promised to help Arjuna when the need arose.
Krishna in this particular circumstance is called Hrisikesam, the one who controls the senses. The senses are often compared to untamed horses, and Krishna in the Gita is the one who drives the chariot, who subdues the horses, closing the metaphor.
Arjuna has Krishna, or Vishnu, on his side as an adviser and Hanuman, or Shiva, as a military force; he has the greatest power imaginable on his side.
The chariot has a rectangular base, is supported by four wheels attached to it and is drawn by three horses also supported by four wheels. In Hindu tradition, the horse is linked to the figure Varuna and as such is equated with the cosmos; in addition, the white horse is thought to be the last incarnation of Vishnu.
Symbology: It is a symbol of power, grace, beauty, nobility, strength and freedom. The meaning of the horse symbol has spread to most cultures and is always related to life force, even many cultures assign attributes to the horse belonging to the 4 elements: earth, fire, water and wind
Once man was able to tame it, the horse entered human history, becoming a symbol of reverence and honour: this beautiful animal began to serve man in battles, farm work and travel.

Antique Traditional Indonesian Gong and bonang
Located in Milano, IT
This extraordinary piece of art from Southeast Asia exudes an ancient charm that transcends time, telling stories of distant traditions and cultures. Dating back to the late 19th century, this work is a testament to the skill and dedication of the artisans of that era, who infused life and soul into every detail.
The gong, the undisputed protagonist of this composition, is made of copper and features a dark patina that accentuates its antique and mystical character. This aged surface, which softens its original shine, adds depth and mystery, almost whispering the stories and rituals for which it was used.
Supporting the gong is a solid wooden structure, painted in a lacquered red that, despite the marks of time, retains a timeless beauty. The traces of wear reveal layers of underlying color, giving the piece a lived-in and authentic charm, as if it had witnessed countless ceremonies and sacred moments.
Alongside the main gong, two small gongs...

Han Dynasty Horse and Rider TL Tested
Located in Atlanta, GA
Tombs of the Han dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) were typically furnished with model figures and other objects believed to be necessary for a safe journey to the afterlife. Historical records indicate that when important military officials died, the imperial Han court would give them elaborate funerals, including a full military cortege. It is likely that this figure of a horse and rider was originally part of a model funerary retinue comprised of soldiers and cavalrymen that would have been placed in such a tomb.
Beautifully proportioned Han dynasty polychrome painted terracotta horse and rider. The warrior is decorated with a painted orange and black tunic. A quiver is visible attached to his back. He would have originally held a wooden bow in between his hands that has rotted away over the centuries. He is riding a beautifully sculpted white horse.
