These kind of jackets are called Hanten in Japanese.
Hanten is a short jacket similar to a haori, but without a gusset. It is worn without a breast strap and without the collar folded back.
This hanten is specially called Shirushi b(h)anten . Shirushi banten is dyed with a familly crest or a store name.
On this shirushi hanten, it is written 'Bishamonten'.
Bishamonten (Skt: Vaisravana) is the Japanese deity of warriors and patron god of Buddhist law and prosperity.
He is one of the four Buddhist deities of the horizons.
On the back, there are one syllabe of 'Bi' from 'Bishamoten'.
'Bi' means 'help' in general in Japanese.
Inside of this hanten, there is written the name which maybe was the person who used to wear it.= Reiji Ito
