Pair of Chinese Republic Era Stacking Lacquered Box Set with Dragons, 1920s
About the Item
Pair of lacquered stacking boxes. Sold as a pair.
Originated from China during the Early Republic period of approximately 1920 and done in a period Chinese Export style.
Each set is composed 5 units, where three are storing boxes. Perfect for jewellery or other accessories.
The containers are composed of a softwood, with a deep black lacquered finish and hand crafted decoration. All sides are hand painted with dragons with red accents.
Note that all parts of the boxes has patina in both color as well as in the lacquered wood. Look closely at the pictures.
