18C Japanese Porcelain Charger Edo Period Garden Scene Shou Lao Ladies Dogs

About the Item

Sharing with you a large Japanese Porcelain dish (37cm) with a quite unusual Imari scene of a women in a garden scene with 4 children and dogs. On the right Shou Lao is visible on a cloud who seems to be watching over them. The cavetto has compartments of Birds on branches and in flight and Flowers. Base also has compartments of Birds on branches and in flight, geometric designs and Flowers. A 4 character mark (Fuki Chosun) is visible within two concentric circles with prunus next to it. 1 more single circle is also there. Edo period, first half 18th century. Enjoy! Similar dish pictured in; one of the 2 catalogues of the Yamamoto collection in the Nezu institute, number 46 Condition Overall condition 1 chip with line to rim. Size 371 x 71mm DXH approx. Period 18th century Edo Period (1603–1867).
