About the Item
Annamese Blue and White Ceramic Dish, Bird Design, Chu Dau kiln, Vietnam, circa 1500. Stoneware with raised rim decorated in under glaze cobalt blue of a plump bird with wings outstretched, perched on a leafy bamboo branch on center, surrounded by a band of grass clumps, the exterior wall decorated with lotus form lappets, raised foot rim and iron brown washed base. Minor kiln flaws otherwise fine condition. 9-1/8 inches in diameter x 2-1/4 inches high. (23.4x5.5cm) 2 lbs 6 oz. (1066g) Circa 1500.
