About the Item

Chinese Junyao Purple Splashed Blue Glazed Bowl. The age of this piece is unclear, but it is likely 20th century possibly earlier. The decorative bowl is beautifully formed with a deep rounded bowl thickening above the delicately carved foot, and decorated with a purple splash and rich blue glaze. Jun ware is known as one of the Five Great Kilns of the Song Dynasty. It is distinguished by simple, well proportioned forms and vibrant, opaque blue glazes decorated with brilliant splashes of purple. This bowl has a timeless elegance, and would make a beautiful accent for an end table or beside a small bouquet on a nightstand.

This piece embodies the craftsmanship and aesthetic values of the period, providing insights into the cultural and economic contexts of its time.
