Chinese Miniature Mingqi Skirted Table

About the Item

This miniature ceramic table is from Shanxi Province and may have been made to represent Mingqi, a type of ancient Chinese burial good. Mingqi were placed in tombs to give the dead everything they’d need in the afterlife: weapons, armor, body guards, horses, or even everyday things like musical instruments, or perhaps this tiny table.
