Geode and kintsugi Bizen vase

About the Item

Restored Bizen stoneware vase with kintsugi and geode This 13 cm high Bizen stoneware vase is a unique and exceptional piece. Doubly incredible, it was broken and then restored using the traditional 24-carat gold kintsugi technique. As a major gap had appeared, I decided to replace it with a geode, which adds depth and originality to the piece. Bizen stoneware is a Japanese pottery renowned for its durability and rustic beauty. Made from iron-rich clay, it is fired at high temperatures in a wood-fired kiln. This process gives the pottery its characteristic color, which varies from brown to gray, and its rough texture. Kintsugi is a Japanese technique for repairing broken ceramics. It involves filling cracks with gold lacquer, giving the object a new beauty and value. A geode is a natural cavity in a rock filled with crystalline minerals. It comes in a variety of shapes and colors, and adds a touch of surprise and originality to the piece. This vase is a unique piece that will delight art and decoration lovers. It’s perfect for adding a touch of sophistication to your interior.
