Japanese Sweet Dish in Wood Slab Form
About the Item
A finely crafted Japanese glazed Porcelain Sweet Dish in the form of a natural wood slab. In a deep Chocolate Brown glaze with good weight and bearing the marks of a wood slab with an off center knot surrounded by growth rings in raised pattern. Bearing a round gold label indicating the shop Kotobuki is South San Francisco. The label is partially obscuring an incised Japanese character.
Dimensions: 9.75” wide by 4” deep by .85” high.
Condition: Please see detail photos. The dish is in good condition, lovely to hold and with a fine sculptural presentation.

It is an Early Japanese Enamel Decorated Saucer c.1660-1680.
