About the Item
This large Japanese Kutani charger, measuring 18 " in diameter, was created during the late 19th-century Meiji period. The thoughtful use of these designs beautifully illustrates the transition from winter to spring.
On the red ground, a beautiful songbird is drawn to a tree bursting with plum blossoms.
On the reverse side, three robust dragons circle the foot, adding a touch of mythical charm to the piece.
