About the Item

Vintage Chinese Famille Rose bright colorful ceramic garden seat, stool or occasional side table. Features a round and oblong body with the overall shape tapering slightly at the top as well as the bottom. The top of the stool features a pierced medallion with four long diamond-shaped piercings surrounding a square or diamond. This is accented by hand painted wild flowers and scolling designs. The sides of this garden stool feature Asian scenes of women or geishas. One depicts them gathered around a table playing mahjong, while the other shows them dancing by a bridge with colorful trees in the background. The women are wearing bright colorful robes in yellow, pink, red and green. Each scene is framed by a red or pink scalloped frame. Outside the scalloped frame, are highly decorated hand-painted Famille rose floral and cabbage type foliage in both green, yellow, pink and white. The top is accented by a vibrant greek key design.
