About the Item

A pair of extra large, sold wood, 19th century Chinese Horseshoe Chairs. The solid, 2" thick, continuous rounded crest rail is composed of three curved sections. The arm ends protrude over the front posts with graceful outward curve measures at 3" wide. Beautiful, gently curved back splat tenons into the wide rectangular seat. The front posts and rear stiles descend to form the legs secured by a pair of double stretchers and a front apron carved with leafy scrolls. The wood a beautiful golden honey in clear finish allows grains of elmwood and attractive patina to show though. The "Quan Yi", horseshoe chair is a symbol of prosperity and sophistication throughout the Chinese history, its timeless style remains current and highly desirable in modern interior design. Extra wide and deep for greater comfort. Seat is 19" D x 24.75" W.
