19th Century Copper-Bronze Tinned Ottoman Empire Table and Base

About the Item

An antique low Ottoman Empire cast metal (copper, tin and bronze) circular tray-table, 19th Century or earlier; base late 19th Century or later. The circular piece can also be used as a This is an exquisite piece of Ottoman art with detailed carving that includes minarets, armed warriors on horseback and fauna and flora designed on a circular piece that literally has centuries of grime, age and the lightest cleaning has uncovered a beautiful silvery patina. The circular tray top centering two equestrian figures in a landscape with Orientalist palace, within rings of calligraphic script interspersed with medallions of animals (birds and deer), with a shaped border. The base is wrought iron. This table has special function: The shelf of the table/wall hanging is deep enough to use a custom glass covering, in case the new owner would like to have the surface cleaned to perfection and keep it so. Dimensions: Tray, 33 inches, diameter; base 10 inches high CONDITION: This tray table is in very good condition--the design and carving is wonderful. PROVENANCE: Acquired from auction

The beautiful details make this 19th century occasional table a standout. The design is 360 degrees with stylized touches from every angle, allowing for more design options. The pine finish has developed a warm patina, and the turned legs are flush with detail. The table is either American or English, late 19th Century. The rectangular top with molded edge over a corresponding frame fitted with a single molded long drawer, is raised on ring-turned legs, joined by a shelf stretcher.
