About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Indian 900 standard silver hip flask with the original leather case; part of our wine and drinks related silverware collection. This exceptional antique Indian 900 standard silver hip flask has an oval rounded form. The surface of this antique silver hip flask is plain and unembellished. The hip flask is fitted with a plain domed, hinged bayonet cover. This exceptional flask retains the original leather carrying case. This Indian colonial silver flask has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as .900 standard (900/1000) silver. This flask has been tested for watertightness and is ready for use. To ensure the flask remains water tight, the cork should be moist and therefore fully expanded to provide an effective seal. There are two recommended methods to ensure the cork does not dry out and shrink: Method One: Keep fluid in the flask at all times, and keep the flask on its side to ensure the cork remains wet. Method Two: Fill the flask to the brim with fluid and close. Leave it like this over night, or 24 hours if possible, before use. Condition This antique silver hip flask is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The flask has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. There are no hallmarks as to be expected with such a piece; the date and origin can be determined by the composition. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
