This very fine example of Chinese cloisonné art is beautifully hand decorated onto a gilt metal body, which has been intricately worked with fine wire, which is soldered onto the body in a scrolled and foliate pattern interspersed with exotic flowers. The design has then been filled and fired with glass enamel only in selected areas in a rich palette of colours which include turquoise, purple and mauve, black, white, green and pink set against a rich gilt metal surface. This beautiful vase is a lovely, unusual shape with its flared foot, bulbous body, tall, shaped neck and inverted rim.
