Small Japanese copper vase made in the late Edo period / 1750-1868 / Flower vase

About the Item

This is a copper vase made around the late Edo period. The body is cast. This is a vase for holding flowers to be offered in a tokonoma alcove or in front of a Buddha. The tip is shaped like a flower bud, and the bottom expresses a wave pattern. It is a small vertical vase, but it has a presence even when viewed from a distance. The verdigris on the bottom, which is caused by copper rust, enriches the expression. As for the condition of the item, there are some small dents. I also filled it with water, but there was no leakage. If you leave water in it for a long time, it may leak, so be sure to dry it after use. This comes with a dedicated wooden storage box.
