Tobacco pot / Tea Caddy Japanese / Chinese Style cast iron

About the Item

This outstanding heavy box can be used as a Tobacco pot or tea caddy. It is signed with a "K" and numbered, also bears the word "Depose" on the bottom rim. Tis beautiful jar is richly decorated with birds, butterflies and dragonflies in natural environment. Made either in Germany or France, in far Eastern style, appr. 1870-1890. The base is made from massive wood.
