Rare Chinese Maoist Communist Era Large Plaque with intricate jade carvings of young recruits fencing and watching while in the presence of a commandeering teacher. Fabulous display of rich colours in a variety of jade, agate and lapis. Signed with script. Framed in solid Rosewood frame that has minor distortion on left side consistent with age. Original metal hanger very heavy duty and sturdy. An exquisite scene and rendered beautifully into a conversation piece with a nostalgic air.
