About the Item
Pair of Carved Boxwood Incense Burners with Lids
A pair of finely carved Chinese boxwood incense burners with matching covers. Each burner features detailed openwork floral and foliage motifs, along with poetic inscriptions on the sides. One reads 寶蘭齋 (“Precious Orchid Studio”), and the other 鬆風明月 (“Pine Wind, Bright Moon”), evoking classical Chinese aesthetics and scholarly retreat. These vessels were traditionally used to burn incense during meditation or ceremonies.
