A Set of Eight Chinese Export Gouache / Watercolors of Workers

About the Item

A set of eight Chinese export gouache watercolors C.1790 - 1820 Unattributed, possibly PuQua. Some on laid paper others on woven paper. Each beautifully illustrate the Chinese workers during this time period and were usually sold as a collection of loose paintings for the western market to view in order to help them understand the process entailed to produce the Chinese teas, porcelains and other products that were being produced and exported for the European markets. All are framed in matching Heydenryk frames as purchased 30 years ago.
